Anik Schwall began her musical education in the class of André Navau and Jean Halsdorf at the Conservatoire in Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg. She continued her university studies for cello in the class of Prof. Rafael Rosenfeld at the Musik-Akademie der Stadt Basel and later at the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles in the class of Prof. Marie Hallynck. In 2018, Anik received her Master of Arts degree with Distinction at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste in the class of Prof. Orfeo Mandozzi. Anik was chosen for the Gstaad Festival Orchestra (CH) with Jaap van Zweden in 2017 and for the Grafenegg Academy Orchestra (A) with Neeme Järvi in 2018. She was also an intern at the Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg (OPL) as well as a member of the European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO) for ten concert tours and she has been invited to play with orchestras like the Royal Concertgebouw Orkest (NL), the Orchestre National de Lorraine (F), the Orquesta de la Comunitat Valenciana (E), the Musica Ricercata Orchestra (RO), the Swiss Youth Symphony Orchestra (SJSO), the Orchestra Leonore (I) and the chamber orchestra Spira Mirabilis (I). She has performed in concert halls like Carnegie Hall in New York, Symphony Hall in Boston, John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Konzerthaus in Berlin, Tonhalle in Zurich, Royal Albert Hall in London, Romanian Athenaeum in Bucharest or Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg. Anik appeared as a soloist with orchestras like the OPL (2012), the Harmonie d'Eischen (2017), the Harmonie Municipale de Hespérange (2019) or the Sibiu Philharmonic Orchestra (2020) and she is a fellow of the Fonds Culturel National Luxembourg. Besides her activity as a music educator, teaching at the Ecole de Musique de l’UGDA, Anik works regularly as a substitute for the Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg (OPL), the Orchestre de Chambre du Luxembourg (OCL), the Solistes Européens Luxembourg (SEL), the contemporary music ensemble United Instruments of Lucilin and she has been the principal cello of the Summer Orchestra Luxembourg (SOL) since 2018. She plays in several chamber music ensembles in Luxembourg and abroad and is a member of the Kammerata Luxembourg as well as of the Cello Octet Luxembourg.
