Very enthusiastic and passionate musician studying currently Harp performance at the Royal Academy of Music in London (Bachelor degree), focusing not only on classical, but also contemporary music, jazz and baroque. In addition often plays in chamber groups, orchestras and ensembles.
Having completed her secondary education specialising in music at the Athénée de Luxembourg in 2016, Dina Nimax began her undergraduate degree at the Royal Academy of Music in London under the tutelage of Charlotte Seale. Alongside her classical harp studies, she has taken classes in jazz, as well as early and contemporary music. Aged five, Dina started learning the harp at the Luxembourg Conservatory with Liane Coljon-Hames, who taught her until 2015 when she received her ‘1. Prix’ with distinction. At the Conservatory she also took lessons in solfège, piano solo and accompaniment, orchestral conducting, score reading, and German and French elocution. In the past she has taken part several times in the Conneticut Valley Harp Intensive with Susan Knapp in the USA, and in the IBACUS Harp Summer Camp in England with Imogen Barford. Dina has also taken lessons with Catherine Beynon, principal harpist at the OPL. Also, she took masterclasses with highly known and prestigious harpists such as Isabelle Perin and Milda Agazarian She first gained orchestral experience while playing with the Luxembourg Studio Orchestra, the Estro Armonico, the ‘Orchestre des Jeunes de la Grande Région CMGR’, and the student symphony orchestra of the CVL. In October 2016, she had the honour of performing under the baton of Daniele Gatti in two SidebySide concerts with the Concertgebouw of Amsterdam. As a soloist she has performed A. Vivaldi’s concerto in D Major and Boieldieu’s C minor harp concerto with the Estro Armonico, as well as the Konzertstück by G. Pierné with the Professors Symphony Orchestra of the CVL. In April 2017, she had the great honour to give a recital at the Abbaye de Neimünster in the cycle of “springboard” concerts.
